Finding a home under a $400,000 budget can be done. Finding a home under $400,000 that’s a new build — now that can be a challenge.

CandysDirt.com has done the leg work finding a new home, under $400,000, with some bells and whistles. Take a look at 2803 Ross Ave. in Fort Worth. This new build, complete with trendy touches, fresh landscaping, and an interesting location, is priced at $365,000.

Luxury on a Budget

An electric fireplace is one of the amenities included in the house.

“We want to appeal to someone who is looking in that price point but wants luxury in their home,” said Claudia Jimenez, the house’s listing Realtor who is with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty. “It’s a really nice house.”

Jimenez represents the construction company ANK Builders and the builder Angel Perez. In the home-building business for five years, Perez constructs one house at a time. His custom houses usually contain three or four bedrooms with two bathrooms, and the Ross Avenue home is an example of this. He tries to keep them under $400,000 while still choosing popular items on home-buyers wish lists, according to Jimenez.

An accent wall is one of the special touches.
The primary bathroom includes gold-finished hardware and a walk-in rain shower.

Trendy Touches

This Fort Worth house on Ross Avenue is the builder’s newest creation. Within its 1,753 square feet are several amenities today’s buyers want. The house features an open layout, custom cabinets, quartz countertops, pot fillers, big showers, spacious closets, and tall ceilings. This house comes with brushed gold fixtures throughout the home, a primary bedroom with a coffered ceiling, and a primary bathroom with a rain shower, Jimenez said. Add to that list of extras an electric fireplace in the living room and stainless-steel appliances in the kitchen.

A pantry and a wine rack are kitchen highlights.

The location of this house is unusual, too. The builder found a vacant lot on which to build his signature style, making this home the neighborhood’s gem. Just a five-minute walk to the Fort Worth Stockyards, the house is surrounded by older homes. Within minutes the home’s owners could walk to Fort Worth’s oh-so-popular tourist attractions of Mexican restaurants and cowboy honky-tonks.

Better Not Dawdle

Homes by ANK Builders typically sell quickly, Jimenez said, because of their price points and luxury finishes. She expects this one to follow the pattern.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for people who look for something nicer and newer,” she said. “It is very unusual, and we usually sell them pretty quickly because of everything the builder puts into them.”

Ready for fun and games is the backyard with new sod and mature trees.
