Job Summary: Wisconsin Singers is recruiting for the position of Executive Producer. Wisconsin Singers is UW-Madison's Broadway Caliber singing, dancing, and instrumental group that draws students from a variety of majors with a passion for musical performance. Traveling throughout the state and region, they present a 90-minute performance of American pop music along with educational workshops in the communities where they perform. The Executive Producer is responsible for the artistic and managerial oversight of this group. This person will shape the artistic direction and business ventures of the Wisconsin Singers along with providing professional performances, workshops, and educational experiences. We're looking for someone with a passion for musical performance and education, enthusiasm for the arts, leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders. Responsibilities: Oversees the daily management of programs, services, activities, facilities, policies and/or processes in order to support student success in various areas of student affairs. Plans, organizes, administers, and manages processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility (20%). Monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the Institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations (15%). Advises and enforces Institution policies related to services in Student Affairs (10%). Serves as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups (15%). Schedules logistics and secures resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit (15%). May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures (15%). May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees (10%). Tasks: Travel with Wisconsin Singers to all shows/events and facilitate all onsite activities including theater/sound/lighting setup, pre-show rehearsals, guest group workshops and sponsor interactions while maintaining performance excellence. Work in partnership with students to design, develop, and facilitate promotion of troupe recruitment and select show events. Serve as an Advisor to student interns, performers and student leaders. Develop and facilitate concert marketing plan to book 35-40 shows to meet annual operating budget. Work with Friends of Wisconsin Singers and development team to support fundraising efforts. Provide leadership in strategic planning and implementation processes. Ensure timely maintenance of financial records, invoice payments, and contracts for the program. Recruit, hire, supervise and hold accountable student staff, interns, and professional staff consultants (choreographers, arrangers, costume design, etc.). Plan and facilitate the audition, production and rehearsal process for each season including the on-boarding of students and professional staff. Hire artists and manage annual show writing, arrangement, and editing process. Education: Required: Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Master's Degree Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience with musical performance or outreach program development. Please describe the program and your level of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with students, staff and a diverse public.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Arts/entertainment industry management, arts education, student advising.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing musical groups and/or programs, including show concept development, booking and marketing, alumni relations, and touring logistics.
  • Strong background in vocal/dance/performance coaching, instrumental direction, and/or arranging music.
Work Type: Full Time: 100% This position will require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
