About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Biology to lead their dynamic and entrepreneurial team in the development of multi-specific medicines. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing the Biology team, with a focus on the preclinical development of therapeutic molecules, particularly in the areas of immunology and oncology. This role requires a deep understanding of the drug development process, a pioneering mindset, and the ability to work closely with internal research teams to advance molecules at a fast pace. The VP of Biology will also be expected to maintain scientific and technical expertise, contribute to the company's strategic research and development plans, and engage with external scientific and business development partners. Applicants for the Vice President of Biology position at the company should have a PhD in a relevant biological discipline and at least 10 years of direct pharmaceutical experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading teams to advance molecules to candidate selection and be experienced in the development of cell-based assays for the screening and selection of therapeutic molecules. A strong background in large molecule drug development, the ability to manage multiple programs, and experience in supporting IND strategy and documentation are essential. The role demands an individual with excellent project management skills, the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, and the ability to foster a culture of executional excellence within the team.
