Part Time Assistant to Mobile Veterinarian in Marina Del Rey:

This is a relationship-based concierge practice with emphasis on individualized attention and follow-up. It is a different approach than what is generally provided in a clinic. Committed to a slower pace, with thorough attention to the whole patient and intensive communication. In this hectic, busy, overwhelming climate of veterinary medicine, a mobile practice is a calm, uplifting and positive alternative for clients and staff!

Job Requirements

* Preferred one year veterinary experience, the job entails mainly tech assistant duties and some administrative work. Must be adept at learning vet software and communicating with clients both in verbal and written communication. You will be emailing each client seen at the end of the day.

*You will be driving either your own vehicle or the practice van to each call, for the 2 days a week you are working. Excellent driving record required and must be comfortable with driving in different neighborhoods.

*Skilled at working with/restraining dogs and cats, owners present. Ideally should be skilled at drawing blood from dogs and cats, with owners not present. We will train for tech duties , if necessary. A positive attitude and willingness to learn is what you must bring!

*Ability to carry equipment, pharmacy, scale into homes and apartments, set up and clean up and repack van after each call. Will transcribe history and vitals to laptop at each call. Must be strong and physically fit.

*Prepare and assist with treatments in the home and prepare medications and labels for dispensing. Work directly with the client at each call to go over charges and medication instructions. Legible handwriting required, must be good at multi-tasking.

*Transport of lab samples to nearby clinic, prepare and submit samples to the lab.

*Monitoring inventory/restocking/keeping lists of medications and supplies to order.

*Great people skills, well-groomed, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

 Job Type: Part-time, 2 days a week, flexible as to which days.

Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, 8-10 hour days, with overtime after 8 hours.
