Overview of Position

The Team Lead is a cannabis expert and face of EC to our customers. The Team Lead is responsible for assisting managing daily operations of the Dispensary. A primary function is to lead our team by example managing best practices and high standards of professionalism and compassionate customer service. The successful candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, constant desire for self-improvement, and attention to details. This position offers the opportunity to learn and grow with the Company from the ground up, and to take on increasing levels of responsibility over time. This position is available Monday to Sunday. Additionally, the Team Lead implements and maintains all policies and procedures of the Company and ensures compliance with all state and local laws and regulations.

The main responsibilities of the Team Lead include providing 1:1 consultations with customers, education with detailed product knowledge to advocate and advise customers face-to-face and by phone. The Team Lead will also be able to handle all Team Lead duties as it relates to cash handling with the POS system and ensuring compliance with inventory. An EC Team Lead must possess a passion for the cannabis plant and have a detailed understanding of terpenes, trichomes, strains, methods of consumption and the science of the Endocannabinoid System. The Team Lead will assist other Team Leads as a team player fielding questions and providing resources and knowledge for the collective success of the EC retail dispensary operation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet customers in person or on the phone in a friendly, authentic and empathic demeanor
  • Responsible for either opening or closing of dispensary (key holder)
  • Balancing cash and product inventory as part of daily opening/closing procedures
  • Observing and participating in customer services during consultation and sales transactions
  • Maintaining accountability of all team members, in relation to specific job description
  • Performing general office work, such as filing records, operating copy machines, and using email
  • Upholding all Company policies and procedures
  • Providing General Manager and Inventory Managers with feedback on inventory levels and sales on a daily and weekly basis as needed.
  • Ensuring that all dispensary Team Leads maintain proper recordkeeping such as, cash handling records, inventory audits, chain of custody documents and waste disposal logs
  • Helping educate all team members on product offerings participating in weekly or monthly staff meetings
  • Maintain compliance with State law and Company policy
  • Assist customers in selecting products; advises and educates them about safe dosage and other aspects of the products
  • Assists General Manager with inventory and cash management, daily and weekly
  • Maintains a clean, safe, welcoming environment inside and outside the facility
  • Understands the team schedule; flexibility to cover weekends in a high volume dispensary.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years post-secondary education in a related field preferred
Work Experience Required
  • 2+ years' cannabis specific experience in a fast-paced customer-service intensive industry - cannabis retail backgrounds preferred, experience in similar regulated industry preferred
  • Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept, lead, and complete additional projects or challenges
Required Knowledge
  • Computer & equipment operations necessary for completing sales transactions with a POS system; and Metrc Experience a Plus.
  • Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems
  • Thorough understanding of State Laws governing cannabis
  • Arithmetic necessary for basic inventory and cash management
  • Familiarity with all aspects of cannabis products required: terpenes, trichomes, methods or consumptions, cannabis science, and detailed knowledge of products offered at the EC dispensary.

Physical Requirements
  • Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet
  • Must pass a background check (state mandated)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (state mandated)
