community volunteer activities every day) Seeking Direct Support Professional (DSP)
for Our Adult Male Client Join Our Day Program for Adults with
Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities POSITION: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
for Adult Day Program
DAYS & HOURS: Mondays - Fridays
8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Westside (Pico-Robertson Area)
RATE of PAY: Starting at $19.00 per hour
The Ideal Applicant: - You are compassionate, fun-loving, and are a good communicator.
- You can learn something and then teach it to others.
- You are both patient and motivational.
- You have the ability to use your instincts to sense what is needed at any given moment and adjust accordingly.
- You enjoy physical exercise (i.e. going for a walk), appreciate music, and engage in fun activities.
You Must Answer YES to ALL of the Following: - Are you available from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday - Friday?
- Are you willing to drive your PERSONAL VEHICLE approximately 100 miles per week on the job with a client? [Mileage reimbursement provided]
- Are you willing to drive a COMPANY VAN approximately 100 miles per week on the job with multiple clients?
- Are you willing to commute to the Pico-Robertson Area?
- Our clients require varying levels of support in some or all of the following areas: Verbal and non-verbal communication, motor regulation, physical prompts, personal hygiene (including toileting), repeated instructions, etc. Are you willing to support clients in these areas?
- If needed, would you be able and willing to assist a client with transfer from car to wheelchair? (Can you lift up to 50 pounds?)
- Are you willing to be taught how to use a letter board, which involves learning details about how your client's motor regulation is best supported to accurately use this form of communication?
