We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. We are searching for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team of lawyers, paralegals and business professionals.

 

The Senior Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist will be located in Washington DC or New York and report to the DEI Senior Manager. The DEI Specialist will assist in implementing and administering the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”) programs.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists with the implementation of policies and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce for the firm.
  • Supports Attorney Affinity Group logistics including heritage month planning and launches of new affinity groups.
  • Conducts new/lateral associate and counsel DEI onboarding.
  • Facilitates time and format of meetings with affinity groups, lawyers and committees.
  • Works with internal creative team to design invitations for affinity group, Women’s Leadership Initiative, and DEI Department events.
  • Attends affinity group events and other DEI-related internal events; works with team to coordinate registration, name tags, contact sheets, materials and other logistics.
  • Coordinates, tracks, and manages DEI-related sponsorships, events, and assists with DEI-related award submissions and other types of recognition.
  • Works with team to keep firm DEI literature, and other materials up to date, including the website (external and intranet), bi-annual DEI Newsletter, annual report, and DEI Brochure.
  • Collaborates with DEI team members across all offices (including our international counterparts), as needed.
  • Conducts research as needed to meet departmental goals.
  • Works with team on departmental presentations and reports.
  • Maintains relationships with students, lawyers, and external groups to exchange information and to plan events.
  • Drafts and develops DEI-related learning resources and programs.
  • In conjunction with the team, performs administrative and other duties, as needed.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of an Associate’s degree and related experience.
  • 5-7 years of relevant DEI experience at a similarly-sized (or larger) law firm or multi-office professional services organization.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and Outlook.

 

 

 

This is a hybrid role and will require on-site presence 3 days per week. Salary is commensurate with years of relevant experience & geographic location. The range for this position is $71,400 - $90,000.
