Overview Join our Pediatric Cardiology Practice with this exciting opportunity as a Triage Nurse! Responsibilities * The Triage Nurse will be part of a care coordination team supporting general care processes alongside the providers. * Manages nurse-directed patient telephone calls * Evaluates and assesses patient's health care needs based on patient's signs and symptoms. * Obtains appropriate input and direction from the provider as needed to determine the bestclinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient health care needs. * Accurately documents in electronic health record (EHR), symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, advice provided, patient/caller response, and follow-up. * Manage prescription refills per protocol. * Coordinate Stat and follow-up appointments on the provider schedules with scheduling staff. * Provide patient education: e.g., acute disease, symptom management. Must have knowledge of disease processes, normal growth and development of all age groups. * Must operate with cultural sensitivity with respect to working with persons and groups of diverse racial, ethnic, economic and social backgrounds * Perform other nursing duties as assigned by Nurse Manager. * Initiate BLS measures on decompensated patients in clinic. * Monitor patients requiring escalated care in clinic. Qualifications * Must possess a current/valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state that they are providing services. * Maintain and possess a state RN license. * Must maintain CPR certification. * Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. * Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
