Registered Nurse or LPN - Staff Development Coordinator or Infection Control Nurse

Come join us at Mt. Carmel Care Center! We are a Faith-Based, Non-Profit, boutique-sized Long-Term Care facility (69 beds), nestled in the heart of the Berkshires. Twice voted "Best of the Berkshires," we are sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm since 2013 and maintain a mission-based environment for our staff and residents.

We are looking to hire a Registered Nurse or LPN - Infection Control Nurse .

• Part-Time Schedule; 16 hours/week.
• Mount Carmel Care Center is Berkshire County's only faith based skilled nursing facility.

Registered Nurse or LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse: Infection Control Nurse Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse - RN or Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology or Certification of the completion of the "Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Course" by CDC.
• One (1) year of experience as a supervisor/manager in long term care.
• Three (3) years of Long-Term Care experience.
• Expertise in DPH regulation, along with excellent communication skills.
• Current BLS certification.

Registered Nurse or LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse: Infection Control Nurse Job Summary:

• Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates the education program based on resident and staff needs, regulations.
• Coordinates an effective general orientation program for new staff and plan other programs as needed.
• Plans and publishes a monthly in-service calendar for all mandatory in-service staff trainings.
• Develops, implements and evaluates the Mt. Carmel Care Center infection prevention program.
• Develops an annual surveillance plan based on the population served, services provided, and analysis of the surveillance data.
• Arranges opportunities for meaningful education programs and staff trainings during the year.
• Conducts an annual competency skills evaluation of nurses in preparation for their performance evaluation.
• Acts as the liaison between the nursing instructors and students affiliating at the facility.
• Compiles necessary reports for DPH and other regulatory agencies as required.
