Job Title: Real Estate Representative I

Department: New Business Acquisition Department

Location: Battle Creek, MI - Remote (with onsite meetings and travel)

Position Overview:

The Real Estate Representative I will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and researching easement documents, handling title work, and managing communications with property owners. This role involves working closely with internal teams, such as project coordinators and designers, to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks related to land acquisition and easement management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of property-related legal descriptions and be comfortable with both administrative and research duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process easement documents in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
• Conduct research and review existing easement documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Pull and review title work for properties related to new business acquisitions.
• Engage in direct communication with property owners to negotiate easements and resolve issues.
• Meet with landowners and internal teams to facilitate acquisition and project coordination.
• Collaborate with project coordinators and designers to support project goals.
• Interpret and analyze legal property descriptions and blueprints related to easement acquisition.
• Provide support to internal CMS clients in relation to easement and property documentation.
• Assist with distribution and low-voltage tasks as needed.
• Perform additional administrative and research tasks as required by the department.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Michigan Notary (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Word for document creation.
• Knowledge of title work, property law, and legal property descriptions.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively with property owners and internal teams.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to read and interpret legal and technical documents.

• Target Week for Scheduling: As soon as possible, no later than February 2.
• Interview Format: Panel or one-on-one interview
