Description/Duties & Responsibilities The City of Santa Clarita is currently recruiting for a part-time, temporary, seasonal (PTS) Events Equipment Lead in the Arts and Events division. Under the leadership of the Arts and Events Supervisor and Coordinator, this position will assist with organizing and cleaning equipment within the storage yard, coordinating repairs and maintenance with vendors, preparing event equipment for use, and performing minor repair tasks as needed.
This position may work up to 28 hours per week, approximately two to four days per week. The schedule is flexible; days and hours vary, may include weekends. Duties and Responsibilities •Organizes and inventories event equipment and supplies to ensure items are stored efficiently and are easily accessible; monitors inventory levels and tracks items in need of repair or replacement
•Maintains general cleanliness of equipment and supplies in the warehouse area; verifies items are in good working order and meet cleanliness standards
•Delivers equipment to various City facilities
•Prepares event equipment for use; may include tasks such as switching out ripped or broken canopies, replacing lightbulbs, filling generators with gas, and patching inflatables
•Regularly inspects and assesses equipment to identify issues and remain compliant with safety standards
•Assists Arts and Event Coordinator with contacting external vendors and service providers for equipment repair, upgrade, and installation
•Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
•Keeps accurate records of equipment upkeep, repairs, and inspections
•Collaborates with warehouse management and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment-related issues and promptly implement solutions
•Leads temporary staff and/or volunteers
•Performs other duties as assigned by Arts and Events Coordinator and/or Supervisor
Education and Experience •High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
•Valid Class C California Driver's License and safe driving record is
required •Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse or equipment management, event organization or other related experience
•Warehouse experience is
highly desirable •Lighting and sound equipment experience is
highly desirable •A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered
Knowledge and Abilities •Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide information to customers in a professional, helpful and quick manner
•Positive, team-oriented, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
•Ability to drive a Class C vehicle with trailer

In addition, part-time, temporary, and seasonal (PTS) employees may be required to participate in the DMV Employer Pull-Notice Program. This program authorizes the City to receive a driver record report upon enrollment and during employment.
PTS workers are at-will. Generally, PTS employees are limited to no more than 999 hours.
