POSITION OVEVIEW:
The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing product planning, program execution, and ensuring the overall success of the product throughout its lifecycle—from inception to discontinuation. This role is pivotal in developing a comprehensive vision and roadmap for the product, incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders, customers, market research, and industry insights.
The Product Manager will collaborate closely with the design, purchasing, marketing, finance, distribution, and other teams to deliver products that align with the company's vision, meet market demands, and uphold high-quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Define the Product Strategy and Roadmap - Establish and articulate the long-term vision and goals for the product, aligning with company objectives.
- Manage the Product Lifecycle - Oversee the product from concept to end-of-life, ensuring continuous alignment with market needs and business goals.
- Operations Management : Responsible for purchase order placement, inventory management, external and internal customer follow-up, logistic requirements, and product master ownership.
- Requirements Management - Collect, manage, and maintain traceability of requirements from all stakeholders across product releases.
- Business Case Development - Develop comprehensive business cases for product investments and secure internal approvals.
- Marketing Plan and Budget - Propose a strategic product marketing plan and budget and ensure successful execution.
- Documentation - Author Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and Market Requirements Documents (MRDs).
- Partnership Assessment - Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third parties to identify and establish potential partnerships.
- Market Expertise - Serve as the recognized expert on the product, market trends, relevant technology, and competitive landscape.
- Positioning and Messaging - Develop core positioning and messaging that resonates with customers and differentiates from competitors.
- Customer Engagement - Conduct product demonstrations and training. Collect, analyze, and share feedback to inform product improvements and future developments.
- Digital Leadership - Lead the website, digital, and social media teams to achieve strategic objectives.
- Pricing Strategy - Negotiate costing and assist in setting competitive pricing strategies.
- Performance Monitoring - Monitor, report, and continuously improve product performance.
- Go-to-Market Plans - Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market launch plans.
- Channel Management - Support all channel management and merchandising initiatives.
- Sales Enablement - Promote the product to sales teams through training sessions, webinars, newsletters, and other tools.
- Project Management - Manage development and marketing projects to ensure timely delivery against plan.
- Product Evangelism - Act as an internal and external advocate for the product.
- Forecasting - Deliver regular volume, revenue, and profit forecasts.
- Market Engagement - Attend industry events to stay informed about market trends and category tendencies.
