Description Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) is seeking a Power Settlement Analyst to join our team! APPLICANTS MUST LIVE WITHIN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR FULL REMOTE WORK OPTION. ABOUT THE POSITION: Under the direction of the Director of Power Supply Resources, this position has a wide range of responsibilities associated with power payment processing, contract administration, and regulatory support. This position will be responsible for performing energy accounting and billing duties for the energy markets settlements function. The position will also serve a supporting role in other power supply related activities and other duties as assigned.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will have experience working with renewable energy, ability to manage commercial relationships with effective communication, and demonstrate analytical skills through a demonstrated ability to deliver results. The Power Supply Resources Team operates in a fast-paced work environment so the right candidate will be able to take on a variety of tasks while maintaining work product quality and attention to detail. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, have the ability to be an active member within a collaborative work culture, be able to deal effectively with complexity, ambiguity, while being a change agent by adding value to the Power Supply Resources Team.

Example of Duties - Reconcile billing transactions with counterparties and the California Independent Systems Operator (CAISO) for services provided and initiate processing of invoices in accordance with contractual timelines while identifying opportunities for 3CE to reduce overall and charge code-specific CAISO costs.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies of higher complexity and identify cost recovery from contractual counterparties as appropriate by leveraging tools and renewable energy contractual knowledge.
- Analyze financial information and recognize significant variances, trends, and irregularities; understand causes/drivers, and summarize concisely to management.
- Ensure the accuracy of all invoices and payments for all contracts within 3CE's power supply portfolio, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in both the traditional and Pre-Pay environment.
- Maintain concise record of all billing transactions in order to facilitate audits by internal and external auditors.
- Assist in the preparation of government filings as needed.
- Balance open collateral and margin positions with counterparties.
- Monitor and forecast 3CE's credit position with the CAISO, including estimated liabilities and available credit.
- Work with counterparties and attribute registries to ensure full delivery of renewable energy credits across varied and complex contract structures.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, project management, and attention to detail.
- Monitor energy market activities, including pricing trends and forward curves related to wholesale power, renewable energy, and capacity.
- Interface with 3CE's finance team and accounting consultants as needed.
- Prepare ad hoc requests for internal and external parties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications Knowledge of: - California Independent System Operator settlements procedures
- Modern office procedures and practices including correspondence etiquette, and operating modern office equipment, technology, and programs.
- Energy generation technologies including carbon-neutral electric energy, conventional energy, and renewable energy such as wind, biomass, geothermal, solar, concentrating solar, and hydroelectric.
- The structure and content of standard power purchase agreements for various resource types (Including wind, biomass, geothermal, solar, concentrating solar, and hydroelectric).
- The Western Renewable Energy Information System (WREGIS).
Ability to: - Read, analyze, and interpret CAISO tariff, operating agreements, and contracts, standard industry power purchase agreements, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Work with advanced Excel skills i.e., PowerQuery database management.
- Demonstrate experience with complex power purchase agreements, power settlements and invoicing with the CAISO.
- Work accurately and swiftly under pressure and independently and meet stated deadlines.
- Manage multiple priorities and quickly adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Analyze and interpret settlement formulas expressed in summation notation.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, attorneys, other governmental organizations, and the general public.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in power settlements, utility/CCA accounting or settlements, or in a related field, progressively responsible professional experience in accounting management in a public service organization.
Highly Desirable: - Renewable energy project development including environmental and local use permitting, interconnection agreements, and processes.
- California's Renewables Portfolio Standard, Power Content Label, and Power Source Disclosure Programs.
- Regulatory reporting and compliance requirements of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
- Experience with energy pre-pay settlements.

RETIREMENT- Employees contribute 10% of their salary on a pre-tax basis towards the PARS retirement system. Employer contributes 10% towards PARS.
HEALTH INSURANCE- 3CE pays $1600.00 towards employee and family medical, dental, and vision. 3CE contributes up to $2400 annually towards flexible spending benefits and $3600.00 towards HRA.
HEALTH & WELLNESS- 3CE contributes $1,000 per fiscal year for health, wellness and EV reimbursement.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION- 3CE offers 457 deferred compensations.
PTO- Accrued in accordance with tenure. 160 hours cap.
CELL PHONE ALLOWANCE- This position is eligible for cell phone allowance of $50.00 monthly.
