Job Description
Operates overhead cranes in the plant to strip panels from molds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Inspect all overhead cranes before use at the beginning of each shift, check crane limit switches and fill out checklist on crane.
• Safely transport panels.
• Safely hook panels up to strip from the mold.
• Inspect rigging daily before use.
• Maintain clean safe work area.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • High school or equivalent (GED)
• Experience with cranes or machinery a plus. Will train completely for each crane.
• Must be able to wear personal protection (PPE) such as work boots, respirators, hard hats, hi-vis vests, safety glasses and hearing protection.
• Works close by, and exposed to, moving construction vehicles such as forklifts, front-end loaders, cranes and tractor-trailers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Must be aware of locations and travel directions of other overhead cranes that may be in close travel proximity as not to hit or impact with other cranes.
• Some lifting of various weights from 5-50lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS: • Indoor environment some limited outdoor.
• Moderate exposure to machine noise.
• Frequently exposed to moving overhead loads.
