Account Manager Offshore with our Coastal Chemical division.
Job Summary: Offshore Account Managers areprimarily responsible for managing the overall customer service and salesefforts in the oil and gas industry to maximize sales and profit.Theymust utilize frequent face-to-face contact in a consultative sales approach toensure the satisfaction of customer needs. The position is responsiblefor maintaining and developing existing assigned accounts.Account Managers - Oilfield must maintaincustomer relationships through on-site support, trouble-shooting,value-delivery, and meeting customer expectations and effectively work withother departments to achieve solutions appropriate and tailored to eachcustomer account. They must uphold Brenntag'score values and focus on customer excellence in all regards every day.
Job Description: Customer Business Development &Sales - Meetsales objectives and focus on customer retention as well as improvingoverall customer satisfaction by using good judgment and discretion inchoosing between options to determine which are best for customer
- Utilizeindependent judgment to identify customer potentials, i.e., best opportunitiesfor cross- and range-selling to existing customers, and engage relevantstakeholders as needed to accomplish the customer potentials (e.g.,Brenntag Specialties sales staff)
- Identifycustomer needs and potential solutions and strategies to meet thoseneeds using industry experience and product knowledge
- Consultwith relevant stakeholders to create in a timely manner the bestsolution among those identified as available for the customer and that extractsmaximum value (e.g., Sales Management/ Product Management for Pricingtopics)
- Maintain professionalrelationships with internal teams and with customers
- Act as pointof contact to assigned customers in all commercial matters, supporting the customer base of oil and gasproducers related to oilfield chemical business
- Determinepotential for new product opportunities through interaction withcustomers
- Educatecustomers on various products and how to utilize the products in theirbusinesses
- Evaluateexisting customer relationships, including maintaining existing businesslevels and developing strategies to grow the relationship
- Assistcustomers in product applications andpromote repeat sales
- Frequently conduct visits to existingcustomer accounts and prepare the meetings
- Coordinate, negotiate and close sales forexisting accounts and follow-up on questions from customer
- Ability to travel up to 75% ofthe time to assigned areas for 24/7 periods of time and at times with noadvance notice in response to customer needs
Know-How Management to ProvideConsultation to Customers - Maintain an up-to-date level of productknowledge, e.g., via training to facilitate sales and educate customerson potential solutions.
- Keep up to date with changes and updates inthe product portfolio and in the market.
- Keep up to date on feedstock and upstreamdevelopments that impact product price movements
General Administration in Support ofCustomer Account Management - Maintain andensure highest safety standards are met at all times
- Set and maximize prices considering value-based pricing in oiland gas industry within guidelines provided by Management
- Ensure appropriatedata administration and documentation of all business cases (e.g., postprocessing of visits, creation of customer projects)
- Complete sales and revenue-related reporting
- Drive commercial and functional excellence based on guidance/input from Commercial Excellence Function
- Provide regular forecasts of product demand from customers toProduct Management to optimize projected demand requirements
AdditionalRequired Skills/Abilities: - Sound computer skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Superior negotiation and communication skills with a specificability to communicate complex chemical formulations and solutions tocustomers and non-technical individuals (remove from JD and add to AM3and higher)
- Strong commercialunderstanding
- Ability to exerciseindependent judgment in matters pertaining to sales and maintaining accounts
- Problem-solvingability and good team player
- High self-management capabilities
- Customer-centric mindset,focusing on creating a positive experience for the customer
- Basic level of strategic thinking (business development,opportunities)
- Mustbe able to obtain all necessary clearances
- Frequent travel required asper business needs
- Valid driver's license withclean driving record
YOUR PROFILE Education and Experience: - PreferablyPost-Secondary Education with a focus in Business, Science or equivalent
- Experiencein oil and gas industry required, preferably in a sales capacity (4 to 6years previous experience in technical sales role preferred)
- Knowledgeof oil & gas chemical solutions required
- Experience managing accounts preferred
