Description: Job Summary:Responsible for leading all sourcing/procurement activities for assigned categories and providing overall management of the sourcing function. Leading the organization and staff in develop and implement a sourcing management strategies. Establishing a best in class sourcing function, developing talent and continually improving performance of the function. Provides deep category and industry expertise to develop staff, drive strategic initiatives and impact change across all levels of the organization. Identify, develop and manage supplier relationships. Effectively negotiate contracts and long term procurement agreements. Develop and propose metrics to analyze supplier total cost to Kaiser. Establishing and managing collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization (including the senior-most executive-level relationships) to driving successful change and improvements in cost, quality and service.Essential Responsibilities:Financial, Cost & Spend Analysis: (FA3) Conceives comparative analyses, determines what data is needed and how to display. Creates and validates spreadsheets. Independently determines cost elements and can identify trends within a data set. Defines appropriate data/information needed to meet objectives and develops an effective plan for gathering that data. Category Management: (CAT1) Recognized expert in Category Sourcing and Category Management. Leads cross functional teams in developing Category Management Strategies bringing together all capabilities and functions in Buy to Pay to optimize overall supply chain performance for affordability, availability, quality and risk.Supply Market Analysis: (SMA1) Subject matter expert on the industry/categories in the Company. Advances the state-of-the-art by developing/discovering information sources and analytical techniques and applies them to internal situations. Is considered an expert in establishing industry knowledge, both within and outside of, Buy to Pay.Negotiation / Influence: (NI1) Established subject matter expert in developing strategies for complex negotiations. Can coach and mentor others to improve their negotiation skills. Demonstrates the ability to teach the SMP and negotiations methods to others in the organization.Stakeholder Client Management: (SCM2) Creates an environment that encourages others to work together to drive better agreements for the entire enterprise. Receives positive feedback from internal stakeholders and is repeatedly sought out to provide guidance and advice to others on how to manage and support key stakeholders. Actively promotes Sourcing and Buy to Pay capabilities across KP and establishes a broad network to expand support for new areas in the organization.Supplier Selection Management: (SSM1) Trains/coaches others in the skills and techniques of supplier analysis. Partners with Impact Spending to include parameters for a Total Health approach to sourcing, such as growing a diverse supply base and improving environmental standards in product selection. Develops and implements complex supplier development programs that cut across multiple business functions and regions. Identifies key performance indicators to drive business value for both parties and to seek out and find emerging business improvement opportunities.Contract Creation Management: (CCM3) Has current knowledge of alternative types of KP purchase agreements and provisions, and uses this knowledge to determine which agreement is aligned with sourcing strategy and is most suitable in a particular situation. Proactively seeks information on precedents regarding a circumstance, supplier or industry, and applies such information to optimize results. Has working knowledge of relationships and agreements with suppliers, implements monitoring and performance tracking methods, and evaluates performance data and takes necessary corrective action after obtaining the input of management and/or Legal where appropriate. Provides executive leadership, colleagues and stakeholders with reports and presentations as required on sourcing munication: (COM1) Provides thought leadership on communication strategies for key sourcing initiatives. Provides communications expertise to help Buy to Pay executives to best relay their thoughts, ideas, or initiatives to key stakeholders throughout the Company. Demonstrates ability to independently develop and deliver presentations to KPs global professional leaders both within and external to Buy to Pay. Effectively represents KP Buy to Pay in external conferences, panels and audiences.Leadership: (LDR1) Demonstrates ability to find, cultivate and advance key talent in the organization. Serves as professional advisor to other Buy to Pay leaders on special projects, strategic innovations in business practice and general management. Is an established resource for counsel by key executives both within and outside of Buy to Pay. Demonstrates and practices a high degree of professional integrity and ethical responsibility in all business activities and in establishing or contributing to the development and implementation of organizational policies. Consistently demonstrates creativity and innovation in management practices which contributes to the growth and development of other managers and ultimately contribute in growth for the business.Project Management: (PM4)Contributes to the identification of objectives, deliverables, timelines, and general needs for one area of a project. Monitors own, and possibly others, activity and assures achievement of deliverables. Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum two (2) years related management experience required. Minimum five (5) years directly related experience, to include strategic sourcing and contract negotiation required. Minimum five (5) years directly related experience in a category in one or more of the following: medical surgical, facilities and support services, and/or IT and Professional services required. Education Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Management Science, Business, Finance, Accounting, contract administration, procurement or a related field required. License, Certification, Registration N/A Additional Requirements:Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
