Summary of Position

As a Maintenance Tech lll at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, you will be part of our dedicated maintenance team responsible for maintaining the physical condition of our hotel. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hotel maintenance and contribute to our commitment to delivering a memorable stay for our guests.

Roles and Responsibilities

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

  1. Assist in the maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and common spaces.
  2. Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and other building systems with the guidance of senior technicians, involving the installation, removal, diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance, of various parts, equipment, assemblies,
  3. Assist in performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, repairing leaky faucets, and fixing minor electrical issues. Required skills will include knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, doors, and basic construction methods.
  4. Participate in preventive maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing safety and efficiency of hotel systems and equipment.
  5. Learn to operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  7. Assist in maintaining inventory levels of maintenance supplies and materials and assist with restocking as needed.
  8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and report any major issues to senior technicians or supervisors.
  9. Respond promptly to guest requests for maintenance assistance and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
  10. Building Engineer will perform semi-skilled tasks, not requiring a licensed technician,
  11. This position is also required to work some graveyard shifts.
  12. Report to work on time, in proper clean uniform.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least 2 years of experience in building maintenance; hotel maintenance preferred.
  2. EPA 608 Universal license HVAC a plus but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ability to lift and carry objects, tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to or around 100lbs is required. This may include moving furniture, appliances, and maintenance materials.
  • The position may involve extended periods of standing, walking, and moving about the hotel property. Technicians may be required to traverse various areas, including guest rooms, corridors, and outdoor spaces.
  • Technicians should be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to access and repair equipment, fixtures, and systems located at different heights and angles.
  • Technicians must have the ability to reach and stretch to access equipment and systems, including those located above shoulder height or in confined spaces.
  • Proficiency in the safe and effective use of maintenance tools and equipment, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, power tools, and test instruments, is essential.
  • Depending on the specific maintenance task, technicians may be required to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding to access elevated areas within the hotel.
  • The ability to perform tasks that require fine motor skills and precise hand-eye coordination, such as repairing small components or handling wiring, is important.
