at the Bluebonnet Detention Center in Anson, TX, while helping detainees gain valuable skills and treatment necessary for success upon release.
What you'll do: You'll be responsible for duties involving HVAC repairs and general maintenance repairs on equipment and buildings, assisting with technical trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry.
Essential functions: - Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, ventilation, and air conditioning and drainage systems. Recommend contracted assistance when on-center repair is not possible.
- Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed, which may include standing or climbing on a ladder to perform such functions.
- Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
- Direct the work of detainees assigned to facility maintenance as appropriate.
- Perform on-call support in emergency situations when equipment malfunctions.
Education and experience requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent
- Training and licensing in the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems required.
- General knowledge of repair and maintenance, and three (3) years of maintenance or related experience also required.
- Must successfully complete preservice training.
- Valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
