Job Title: Summer Legal Intern
Location: Hybrid (1-2 days in our Troy office per week)
Department: Legal
Reports To: General Counsel
Type: Internship (up to 20 hours per week)
Duration: Summer 2025

*Please note this is a Hybrid position, so reporting to our Troy, MI office is required 1-2 days per week.

Position Summary:
The Summer Legal Intern will support the Legal team with various tasks, including legal research, contract/document review, regulatory compliance, and administrative support. This is an excellent opportunity for a law student to gain hands-on experience in the mortgage and financial services industry.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research on federal and state mortgage laws and regulations
• Assist with the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents and contracts
• Support compliance initiatives and help ensure internal policies are up to date
• Assist with responding to subpoenas, legal inquiries, and/or document requests
• Review and summarize statutes, case law, or regulatory guidance affecting the mortgage industry
• Participate in audits, state exams, and compliance reviews
• Collaborate with General Counsel and Paralegal on special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited law school (second or third year preferred)
• Strong interest in real estate, financial services, or corporate law
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
