The Cambria Hotel of Pittsburgh is a peaceful retreat amid the bustle in Pittsburgh. Unwind in our all-suite accommodations in the heart of the business district, filled with skyscrapers, stores, and vibrant dining and entertainment. Whether you are in town for a family vacation or a business trip, our upscale hotel puts you close to the area's top sights like Carnegie Science Museum, PPG Paints Arena, Rivers Casino, theaters, restaurants, and more.
Mission of the Role:
The Laundry Attendant assures the proper washing, drying and storage of laundry to keep linens and clothing up to Pyramid Global Hospitality's high standard of quality.
Essential Job Functions:
•Operate washing and drying equipment, load and unload laundry from machines. Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications.
•Monitor feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor.
•Empty the laundry chute and prepare loads for washer.
•Pre-sort and separate linen by classification and transfer by lifting, carrying, or transporting to workstations.
•Run folding equipment to fold mats, blankets, towels, bedspreads, etc.
•Press duvets, pillowcases, and other required linens.
•Separate out laundry requiring mending or special stain removal.
•Clean empty hampers.
•Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen.
•Clean up machines and surrounding areas.
•Stock linen room with cleaned product.
•Assist with other needs as directed by management.
Qualifications Requirements:
•Working knowledge of the use of laundry chemicals and different formulas, as well as effects on various types of linen.
•Ability to prioritize and organize work.
•Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods of time. Requires lifting bundles of linen weighing up to 75 lbs.
•Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 200 lbs.
