The essential functions of this position are to perform quality control analyses of crude/refined oil products and document analytical results.The position is a rotating shift position The hours are from 7a to 7p and 7p to 7a.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCollect, log and file oil samples for quality control checksPerform quality control analyses in accordance with plant and/or customer specificationsPerform laboratory housekeeping duties to include washing glassware, cleaning floors and cabinets and emptying trash containersOperate quality control instrumentsLearn to calibrate and perform simple maintenance on laboratory instrumentsLearn specialized quality control test to include but limited to solid fat content, spectrometry and chromatographyPerform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state and federal agencies as well as company policiesMinimum EducationHigh school Diploma / GED (required)College Degree in a science program (preferred)Experience Requirements2-4 years of applicable lab experience requiredEducation can be substituted for experienceReading, writing and math skillsStrong organizational and analytical skillsExperience PreferredKnowledge of quality control preferredKnowledge of chemistry preferredEnvironmental Factors and Physical RequirementsAble to move freely throughout the Quality Control Laboratory and Oil refinery facilityClimbing vertical heights (0-150')Carrying equipment or samples (0-50 pounds)Exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit)Humidity (0-100%)Noise (50db to 100db)Chemicals (SDS sheets available)Must be able to wear protective equipmentPerdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
