Flow Traders is looking for a Junior Security Engineer to join our growing Technology team in New York. The ideal candidate has hands on experience across the spectrum of cyber security tools and is comfortable working with an international team to manage day to day security operations and security projects. As a Junior Security Engineer, you will assist in analyzing, interpreting, and managing alerts, security logs, and network flows. You will support the implementation of firewall rules, contribute to managing security incidents, and participate in routine audits and documentation of the environment. You will play a crucial role in supporting the safeguarding of our security infrastructure and collaborate with global colleagues and other IT teams, such as networking or enterprise systems.

What you will do - Assist in managing and maintaining the security of our physical and virtual IT infrastructure.
- Assist in identifying critical vulnerabilities and contribute to providing reports to management.
- Participate in conducting vulnerability scans and contribute to creating action plans to address findings.
- Support in the installation and maintenance of security infrastructure, including IPS/IDS, log management, SIEM, and SOAR systems.
- Contribute to establishing preventative and detective measures against external and internal threats.
- Assist in creating security awareness within the organization and support in educating and guiding team members and coworkers.
What you need to succeed - 1+ years of professional Cyber Security experience
- Bachelor's degree (preferably Cyber Security, Computer Science or applicable STEM)
- Strong attention-to-detail, self-starter, highly organized, methodical and strong communicator (inc. English fluency)
- Working proficiency with firewalls, application security scanning and security orchestration
- Working proficiency with scripting and/or research language (e.g. Python) is a plus
- Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM are a plus

Where candidates will fall within the range depends on a few different factors including but not limited to level of experience, location, and specific skill set. We also consider ourselves one global team, and to demonstrate that, all employees are eligible to share in the company's success through an annual discretionary variable remuneration allocated based on company, group and individual performance and contribution.
Per NYC salary transparency law, the total compensation for this role includes a base of $90,000 to $105,000 plus annual discretionary variable remuneration.
