HS Social Studies Teacher Join to apply for the HS Social Studies Teacher role at Responsive Education Solutions . This position is a home‑based role; all teachers must be Texas state‑certified and live within Texas. Position Summary We are expanding our virtual learning offerings in Texas, building upon the success of more than 70 brick‑and‑mortar campuses. Education / Certification Completed a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university Valid Texas Teacher Certification in your area of instruction Experience Experience with mastery‑based or individualized learning approaches to student education (Preferred) 1-3 years of teaching experience in a Texas Public School 1-3 years of virtual teaching experience (Preferred) Two or more years of documented experience teaching online courses for students in Grades 3-12, AND successfully completed continuing professional development specific to online learning every three years (Preferred) Additional Requirements Please upload an intro video and instruction recording using the following link: Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs) Exhibits passion and excitement about teaching Expects student performance to be nothing short of their best work Ability to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort Acts without being told what to do and brings new ideas to the faculty Demonstrates the ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information Demonstrates persistence and willingness to go the distance to get something done for a student Demonstrates the ability to be detail oriented Maintains stable performance under pressure Generates new and innovative approaches to classroom or work‑related problems Possesses a track record of working hard or a willingness to work hard Possesses listening skills, seeking to understand other viewpoints Speaks and writes clearly and articulately in all forms of communication including eMail Follows through with verbal and written agreements with students, colleagues, and administration Solicits feedback and reacts calmly to suggestions Reaches out to peers and cooperates with supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship Adjusts quickly to changing priorities or conditions Organizes and manages time wisely Uses varied communication vehicles and opportunities to promote classroom dialogue Proficient computer skills and comfort with technology (necessary for seamless transitions between multiple platforms and programs) Responsibilities And Duties Take ownership of student knowledge and commit to stretching students’ cognitive capacities Use pedagogical expertise to execute lessons aligned to state standards while anticipating student needs through progress monitoring Differentiate instruction to personalize learning and proactively minimize confusion or disengagement Deliver instruction that promotes problem‑solving, real‑world application, and higher‑order thinking Maintain an overwhelmingly positive class climate and a safe, supportive learning environment Utilize analytical and reflective methods for formal and informal student data Display mutual respect with students while maintaining an emotionally safe environment Maintain knowledge of accommodations and modifications for IEP or 504 plans Implement accommodations and modifications through appropriate assignments and assessments Partner with special educators to determine appropriate implementation of accommodations and modifications for specific content standards Comply with the Texas Educator Code of Ethics, the ResponsiveEd Employee Handbook, the ResponsiveEd Student‑Parent Handbook, and other relevant directives and procedures Serve as a test administrator during all state testing windows and district assessment testing as needed (may require overnight travel) Perform all other duties as assigned Equipment Used General office equipment including computer, copier, scanner, etc. Various applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, G‑Mail, Study Island, eSped, Buzz, Google Drive, Blackboard, Zoom, USA Test Prep, etc.) Physical / Environmental Factors The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. District and federal guidelines are followed for travel expenses. Professional Development Virtual staff must attend in‑person professional development prior to the school year. In‑person trainings may also be required throughout the school year. State Assessments During the STAAR and TELPAS state assessment windows, including the summer STAAR session, virtual staff will proctor/administer student assessments at a district testing center. Virtual staff may be assigned to proctor at a site near their residence or at a location that requires intrastate travel and possibly overnight lodging. State assessment dates are contingent to change pending the direction of the TEA.
