• Finding customers: Attracting new customers and maintaining relationships with existing ones
• Identifying carriers: Researching and vetting carriers to ensure they are safe and reliable
• Negotiating contracts: Obtaining shipping quotes from carriers and negotiating contracts to optimize profits
• Booking orders: Lining up carriers for loading and booking freight services for clients
• Coordinating shipments: Ensuring shipments are loaded safely and efficiently, and coordinating pickup and drop off
• Tracking shipments: Communicating with dispatchers and drivers to track the status of loads and ensure they arrive on time and undamaged
• Providing updates: Keeping clients informed of the progress of their shipments and responding to their questions and concerns
• Advising clients: Offering guidance on potential supply chain issues
• Maintaining records: Updating customer management software and keeping files and receipts up to date
