Responsibilities:
Peraton is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.
Initially, the role will be onsite, with an option for hybrid after the first 2-4 weeks.
The Office of Agriculture Technology Services (OATS), Information Security Office seeks a qualified and experienced Cyber Security Analyst to augment its information security team. Reporting directly to the Information Security Manager, the Security Analyst will be tasked with safeguarding our information resources and systems. This Security Analyst will provide crucial technical expertise across network, systems, application, and data domains. This role will work closely with OATS technical teams to ensure that our systems and network is fortified with robust security measures throughout their lifecycle.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Prepare deliverables within the specified timeframe as outlined by the contract and functional managers.
- Ensure compliance with Florida Statute 282.318, the Florida Cybersecurity Standards (SFCS), and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
- Proactively monitor the environment to identify and counter cyber-attacks.
- Investigate and respond to real-time alerts promptly and effectively.
- Conduct reviews of real-time and historical reports to identify security and compliance breaches.
- Provide technical guidance on security matters to technology operational teams and the wider business.
- Offer technical guidance on cybersecurity strategies and plans.
- Stay updated on new and emerging cyber threats by monitoring online security resources.
- Perform vulnerability assessments across departmental systems, processes, and applications.
- Manage systems owned by the Information Security Office.
- Evaluate systems and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Evaluate the potential value of new security technologies for adoption within the enterprise.
- Coordinate with trusted security managed services, technical resources, and third-party vendors.
- Develop reports and presentations to convey security concepts, draft policies and procedures, and document and respond to incidents.
- Prepare documentation ensuring all work complies with OATS policies and procedures.
- Review required documentation for completeness and correctness before submission.
- Obtain acceptance and approval of deliverables from the contract manager, functional manager, and appropriate stakeholders.
- Act as a mentor and technical trainer to FDACS cybersecurity and operational staff.
- Comply with OATS administrative policies and procedures, working directly with the departments functional manager throughout the contract term.
- Apprise OATS management of the progress of technical solutions as directed by the departments contract manager or functional manager.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
- Must be able to undergo a level 2 background check
- Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management.
- Knowledge of project management methodology and familiarity with defined program management approaches (e.g., PMI, Prince II, or Agile).
- Technical proficiency with security-related systems and applications, particularly server operating systems, database applications, anti-malware, spam and phishing detection, endpoint protection, and continuous monitoring.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with vulnerability management.
- Experience and proficiency in developing, documenting, and maintaining security procedures and reports.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and associated network protocols and concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively resolve security incidents and problems.
- Ability to create incident response plans, presentations, diagrams, and documents detailing cybersecurity concepts and processes.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Project.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect, or Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect.
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or equivalent.
- At least three years of experience in security analysis or similar roles.
- Expertise in enterprise technologies including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, server operating systems, and databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft platforms (Azure, Entra ID/Azure AD, Active Directory, SQL Server, Windows OS, GitHub Actions, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune).
- Proficiency in Oracle database applications and Solaris operating systems.
- Experience with technology products such as Palo Alto NGFW, Tenable Vulnerability Management, Microsoft Defender, ForeScout, and Azure Sentinel.
- Ability to implement and enforce security frameworks (NIST CSF, PCI DSS, ISO).
- Experience in developing and maintaining incident response plans, security policies, risk assessments, and supplier risk assessments.

Target Salary Range:
$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
