The Squaxin Island Tribe is seeking a creative, dynamic and experienced economic development professional to take Island Enterprises Inc. (IEI) to the next level as its Chief Executive Officer. The Squaxin Island Tribe and IEI are located in Kamilche, in Western Washington. Revenue generated from the enterprise activities provides funds to support education, health care, public safety and other essential services for Squaxin Island tribal members.

Island Enterprises Inc. (IEI) is the economic development arm of the Squaxin Island Tribe. IEI, its affiliates, and subsidiaries operate a seafood company, engaged in production, processing and wholesaling; a chain of gas and convenience stores; a wholesale tobacco distribution company; cannabis production, processing and retailing; and hospitality. IEI is dedicated to the development, acquisition, and attraction of economic ventures that will enable the Squaxin Island Tribe to continue on its path of self-sufficiency and self-governance and diversify funding sources for tribal services.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Island Enterprises Inc. is responsible for leading IEI business development efforts, developing a strategic plan with measurable targets to achieve stated goals, leadership development and providing expertise and direction to the management of all of Tribal enterprises operating under IEI. The primary focus would be in the areas of new business development, strategic and business planning development and execution, human resource development, team building, financial and operations management and reporting. The CEO provides effective leadership and vision for IEI to grow responsibly in a profitable and sustainable manner. The position will regularly interact and collaborate with Squaxin Island Tribal Council, Squaxin Island Government Administration leadership, Little Creek Casino Resort leadership, Skookum Creek Tobacco leadership, Squaxin Island community members and other local, state and federal economic development agency personnel.
The CEO has full responsibility for the essential functions and daily operations of the IEI corporate office and enterprises in accordance with IEI vision, strategic plan, operating/business plans and annual budgets as approved by the IEI Board and Squaxin Island Tribal Council.
The approval of the Board shall be required for all significant decisions that are outside of the ordinary course of IEI business, including major financings, acquisitions, dispositions, budgets and capital expenditures. The CEO is responsible for the success of the company.

COMPENSATION
Annual compensation for this position will depend upon candidate qualifications, and possibly include additional incentives for achievement of performance measures. Tribal employment includes a health care package, retirement, and vacation benefits.
