We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join an executive leadership team in Fremont, Ohio. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining institutional financial stability through expert oversight of all fiscal operations and alignment of budgets with long-term strategic goals. The CFO will drive operational efficiency, provide critical financial guidance, and support the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis, to ensure ongoing fiscal health.
  • Lead preparation and administration of the annual budget, ensuring consistency with strategic plans and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, legal standards, and accounting principles.
  • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies for revenue forecasting and fund balance planning.
  • Oversee investment portfolios, debt management, and cash flow to optimize financial performance.
  • Deliver timely and detailed financial reports, including program cost analyses, to inform decisions for executive leadership and Board of Trustees.
  • Administer key processes including property and liability insurance programs, purchasing, and robust records management.
  • Manage contracts, RFPs, and agreements for financial services, insurance policies, and audit functions.
  • Collaborate with affiliated foundations and stakeholders to support financial planning, investment management, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to finance staff, fostering a detail-oriented and customer-focused team culture.

• Minimum of seven years of experience in financial management or related leadership roles in high education

• Expertise in developing annual financial plans and managing complex budgets.

• Strong knowledge of GASB standards and their application in financial reporting.

• Proven experience in controllership functions, including compliance and internal controls.

• Familiarity with Banner or similar financial management systems.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

• Ability to lead teams effectively and encourage attention to detail and growth among staff.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
