The Lismore Hotel is seeking a dependable and organized individual to be our next Captain for ECDC. This position will report to the Outlet Manager and assist with overall leadership of ECDC (Eau Claire Downtown Coffee). This position will be the first point of contact for all ECDC employees.
The Lismore Hotel is a beautiful hotel with modern amenities located in the heart of downtown Eau Claire. Here you’ll find rooms with city views, event halls, the Informalist Restaurant, ECDC Coffee Shop, and Dive, our rooftop craft cocktail bar. We are also located just blocks away from some of Eau Claire’s biggest attractions like the Pablo Center, UW Eau Claire, and Phoenix Park.
Responsibilities: - Coordinate work activities among all service staff to ensure better flow of service; liaise with staff to expedite service.
- Support and train new team members to ensure consistency in the steps of service.
- Provide direction and guidance to all service staff on the floor during hours of operation.
- Resolve guest issues encountered by the service staff. Step in to take over immediate service needs when necessary to ensure guest issue is handled eloquently and in a timely manner.
- Manager access permissions to POS.
- Maintain complete knowledge of restaurant computer system for placing food orders.
- Know all menu items, prices, and specifications.
- Perform and complete manager opening and closing duties as well as assist with barista/cook side work when necessary.
- Responsible as a key holder on the floor during hours of operation.
- Proceeds with corrective action with employees when necessary.
- Monitor the restaurant’s cash flow and settling of outstanding bills during hours of operation.
- Ability to work and perform every facet of the business as necessary, front and back out house.
- Ensure all guests receive a consistent quality product, prepared accurately, in a timely fashion and according to our specifications
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Be knowledgeable and comply with our policies and procedures consistently
- Be knowledgeable and comply with our food, beverages, plate specs, portion sizes, recipes, menu items, their ingredients, and our kitchen’s capabilities
- Practice all health codes, The Lismore personal hygiene and uniform standards daily
- Have comprehensive knowledge of the equipment and complete maintenance on them
- Communicate with maintenance and or vendors for any needs for the upkeep of the shop
- Upkeep of the shop as to maintain Hilton brand standards
- Assist your fellow employees
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
- Ability to delegate and assign tasks to staff accordingly to needs
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
- Knowledgeable use of Aloha POS systems
- Assists with placing orders across multiple vendors
- Assists in performing inventory monthly
- Putting away orders from vendors
- Weekly organization of food storage areas
- Ensure proper organization of food storage areas to be able to place orders efficiently and accurately
- Act as a backup leader to them when Outlet Manager is out
- Attend meetings in place of Outlet Manager if they cannot attend
- Assist Outlet Manager in coaching team when issues arise
- Communicate with Outlet Manager on weekly basis to keep open dialogue of employee business needs
- Other tasks as assigned by the Outlet Manager
- Maintain composure and display calm during heavy volume and potential emergencies
- Must cover shifts on short notice as necessary.
- Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as schedule dictates
