HDI Global Insurance Company is a rapidly expanding Insurance Company. With offices throughout the world, we can provide insurance solutions for our clients in over 160 countries. We are searching for an Associate Underwriter to join our U.S. Cyber team.

The Associate Underwriter, Cyber will work within specific limits of authority on assignments requiring significant technical complexity and coordination, utilizing underwriting tools and guidelines, rating manual rules and insurance laws and regulations. They will be responsible for reviewing and ensuring that all data is accurately entered into various systems for the Cyber team.

Essential functions

• Works with management, senior underwriters and underwriters on accounts with varying complexity and size to issue and process local written Cyber and Cyber blended policies for US based companies
• Participate in prospecting through broker visits, identification of new business targets and opportunities, collaborate closely with producer/agent to ensure department receives opportunity to offer proposal. Develop marketing strategy.
• Review and evaluate new and renewal business based upon company underwriting framework, guidelines, competition, and geographic focus.
• Produces, reviews and processes quotes, binders, policies, endorsements, and invoices.
• Working within the referral process, analyze and underwrite individual risks. Develop appropriate limits structure, retention, pricing, and endorsements.
• Prepares quotes and answers questions from agents, brokers and policyholders, or other external contacts and escalates issues to management along with proposed solutions, as necessary. Negotiates with agents to reach positive and profitable outcomes.
• Enters, analyses and monitors data in proprietary CRM system.
• Keep files up to date and well documented
• Maintain New business/renewal tracker
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients and brokers
• Continuously develop and update product, market, and underwriting knowledge via continuing education, online courses, and industry conferences
• Meet servicing objectives, including but not limited to quote turnaround, policy issuance, phone management, file maintenance and documentation

Skills and Experience

• High level of technical and product service expertise, knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, and procedures
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of both internal and external business partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to achieve results by taking a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives
• 3 plus years in cyber underwriting or broking

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 -$90,000 plus eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including experience, education, and location.
