divh2Aircraft Maintenance Technician/h2pHelp install, adjust, align, troubleshoot, and perform final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems./ppDisassemble components/systems and determine the required repairs on aircrafts./ppCorrect problems by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts, e.g., bad actuators, corroded fuel lines, etc./ppInspect engine for fuel, oil, and hot air leaks during engine run./ppConduct pressure and obstruction tests of fuel systems and check pneudraulic/hydraulic systems after repair on aircraft./ppMust be a US Citizen./ppMust be determined suitable for federal employment./ppMust participate in the direct deposit pay program./ppNew employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check./ppWithin the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326./ppMales born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service./ppYou will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination./ppYou will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty./ppSuccessful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required./ppThis position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites./ppWork is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)./ppYou will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift./ppQualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time./ppThis job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job./ppA comprehensive understanding of aircraft and helicopters, coupled with the ability to apply mathematical formulas related to weight and balance./ppAbility to assist Squadron Weight Balance Officers in resolving any weight and balance concerns that may impact mission requirements./ppStrong communication skills./ppThe ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions./p/div
